I recently had a chat with Aaron Lim on his Action Points podcast about my work making physical world games using community-focused game design approaches. Aaron helps to run an event in Melbourne called the Games Incubator Laboratory to help tabletop designers test their games with the public. Aaron and I got introduced because of a similar event called Playup Perth that Games We Play runs with FTI in Perth, with a similar mandate, but open to all types of games.
Aaron and I had a great conversation about successfully engaging players & stakeholders in testing games. We also got talking about some best practices when using games for positive outcomes and getting people to think critically and engage more deeply with issues.
If your curious about some of the work we do and the approaches we use, this is a great entry point.
Thanks for having me, Aaron!
